This letter by Mary E. Addison of Women in Trades was sent to members in 1987 announcing the launch of their first Union Financial Appeal.  As a volunteer support group, Women in Trades promoted women’s entry into non-traditional employment and gained a voice for women in the unions. The letter describes the activities the group has been involved with as well as an ambitious agenda for the future. The request for funds was motivated by the need to pay for current operational expenses and to eventually hire staff.
