Women Of Change This poster was created for the Ontario Women’s Directorate in the early 1990s. It depicts 41 small images of women-change-makers from a variety of backgrounds, occupations, experiences, and decades, across the middle of the poster with short statements about the women depicted below and above the images. Large text across the top reads: “Women of Change” and there is a logo for the Ontario Women’s Directorate in the corner. The poster was designed by Joss Mclennan and photographed by Debra Friedman. This poster is one of a number by Joss Maclennan featured in the Rise Up archival collection that illuminate her passion for clear language, strong visuals and dedication to social justice.Her work supports change on issues spanning domestic violence prevention, reproductive justice, poverty, racism, 2SLGBTQIA+ and workers’ rights, the environment, and the arts, Joss has created designs and illustrations for some of Canada’s most iconic social justice campaigns, including The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
